Very good overall

Heating system is not as effective as my 2005 CRV. The conservative gas pedal makes me have to "gun it" to get up hills and keep up with traffic. Getting less than 22 mpg when not on highway/ cruise control. Nice size, very low upkeep, nice steering, good visibility and sound system. Got 30 mpg on long road trip using cruise control!!

roomy but dynamically awkward the faster you go.

See pros and cons. Reliable transportation in general. Fun to drive? If you go slowly. The faster it gets, the hairier it feels. You can force it to go medium fast but it is not confidence-inspiring. Ungainly styling is ignorable. A front end collision at low speed cost 6100$ to fix. With so many vulnerable components right up front, unprotected, it seems like it was intentionally designed to be expensive to repair! On the plus side, it has decent load space. We inherited this car so the price was right. Thank you grandparents.

Great buy. Solid car.

This is a solid reliable car! I bought one for both my daughters, too. Stable on the road, good gas mileage and relatively maintenance free. There is plenty of room for four passengers and for their stuff in the back. The on demand all wheel drive has worked flawlessly in the snow.

Very very good!

Liked just about everything except the liars at the dealership. The techs saved me from their clutches and saw that I had the 150 pre-owned inspection and maintenance for real. My third Honda from them but no more. Will try another delaership.

2005 CRV is a winner

Great Reliability, good gas mileage, handles the road nicely with low center of gravity. AWD kicks in appropriately, anti lock brakes work well, I'm totally considering another CRV in 2015 after 10 years with this vehicle. Only once or twice required towing, once recently for the first blown clutch at 208K miles.
