A Decade of LOVE

I drove this car off the lot in December of 2005 and I have loved every minute of driving time with it! It is a Smooth Ride! She is 10 years old and there have not been any electrical or engine issues! I have 4 kids involved with LOTS of extra curricular activities so we run around town often. We visit family out of state and go on vacations. The car is very spacious and the back is super big. I have never had any problems. She is 10 years old and still amazing. We have only had the maintenance done besides having the motor mounts replaced (I drive it like I did my first car- a fiat spider:/) Two kids are in their teens now and still fit comfortably in the middle or the back. The leather has held up well except the drives right arm (My arm is constantly resting on it...), oh and a cd got stuck in the changer a year ago- that's about the worst I have to say about her. I LOVE THIS VEHICLE!

Disappointed in Honda Odyssey

While there are many positives about the 2005 Honda Odyssey and it has a loyal fan base, fuel inefficiency, horrible door mechanics and poor maneuverability make this van less than optimal. Our next car will likely be a Subaru Outback.

We drove everywhere and it got us there

I have LOVED this minvan. I am only trading it in because it has 190K miles on it and cars don't last forever. We took it to every suggested check up and service and it's run beautifully for almost 12 years now. I am looking at buying another Honda Odyssey

not so good!

the known problem with their transmissions and the lack of warnings about it from dealerships and their sales teams!! ( After Recalls) I read after purchase and during my trans. problem that, Honda's of that year were recalled to fix such problems.

I love this car.

I don't dislike anything about this vehicle. Now that I don't transport kids as much in the vehicle, would be nice to have a slightly more fuel efficient car. That said, it is way more efficient than an SUV.

Campaign Number: 20V066000
Component Name: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Manufacturer: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
Description: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Odyssey vehicles. The wire harness for the third row seat accessory power outlet may get pinched between the unibody and rear trim panel, possibly damaging the wires and causing an electrical short.
Defect: An intermittent electrical short could overheat the wire harness, increasing the risk of a fire.
Corrective Action: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the third row seat accessory power outlet wire harness for damage, replacing it as necessary. If no damage is found, the dealer will apply protective tape and re-route the harness. All repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began March 16, 2020. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is T6U.

1998 Honda Odyssey (1/17/2020)

Campaign Number: 20V026000
Component Name: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR MODULE
Manufacturer: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
Description: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 1997-1998 Acura 2.2CL, 1998-1999 Acura 2.3CL, 1997-1999 Acura 3.0CL, 2001 Acura 3.2CL and Acura MDX, 1998-2000 Honda Accord Coupe, Accord Sedan, Civic Sedan, Odyssey and Acura 3.5RL, 1999-2000 Acura 3.2TL, 1996-2000 Civic Coupe, 1997-2000 CR-V, 1997-1998 EV Plus, and 1998-1999 Isuzu Oasis vehicles. These vehicles were equipped with Non-Azide Driver air bag Inflators (NADI) and do not contain phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant. Due to a manufacturing issue, the NADI inflators may absorb moisture, causing the inflators to rupture or the air bag cushion to underinflate.
Defect: In the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants. An underinflated air bag cushion may not properly protect the occupant. These scenarios increase the risk of serious injury or death.
Corrective Action: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver frontal air bag inflator with an inflator of a different design, when the replacement parts become available. Owners will be notified of the issue beginning March 9, 2020. A second letter will be mailed once remedy parts become available. Owners may contact American Honda's Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138 or Isuzu customer service at 1-800-255-6727.
